
Usha Chang ran a kindergarten in Malaysia for 20 years before closing it down to serve full-time as Education Consultant for AMURT Indonesia’s early childhood education projects. She excels in experiential learning to foster self-reflection and connection. Usha emphasizes nurturing team dynamics to help members reach their full potential. Under her guidance, AMURT Indonesia’s staff transformed into confident activists working hands-on to propagate progressive, child-centered education across Indonesia. Over the last 14 years, the direct beneficiaries impacted by AMURT Indonesia’s teacher training projects have reached an estimated 2,000 teachers and 60,000 children in 14 locations across Indonesia. Usha is committed to social causes, especially for the less privileged. In Malaysia, she works to improve educational access for refugee and poor migrant children, offering teacher training, parent educational talks, and organizing art therapy programs for children dealing with trauma and negative emotions.
