Kalyanii Chew

Kalyanii Chew has contributed to Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) since 2005, aiding humanitarian efforts in Aceh, Indonesia after the Asia Tsunami, Cyclone Nargis disaster relief in Myanmar, and educational projects for underprivileged children and refugees in Malaysia. She has supported AMURT Indonesia’s work since the West Sumatra Earthquake in 2009.  In 2011, AMURT Indonesia shifted its focus to early childhood teacher training to meet a critical need in the country. A retired journalist, Kalyanii serves as an Advisor to AMURT Indonesia, applying her skills to project management, advocacy, and collaboration. AMURT Indonesia partners with diverse groups and the government, impacting thousands through shared values aligning with Indonesia’s Pancasila Student Profile. Over the last 14 years, the direct beneficiaries impacted by AMURT Indonesia’s teacher training projects have reached an estimated 2,000 teachers and 60,000 children in 14 locations across Indonesia.  She believes in empowering individuals to reach their potential for dynamic teamwork and achieving project goals, fostering significant progress and lasting positive change. Kalyanii also serves on the Board of AMGK Inc.
